Dallas, Texas - Today, Vanessa Ogle, one of technology and hospitality’s most recognized innovators and CEOs, has launched HigherHill Studios, an artist incubator and record label focused on advancing songwriters, producers, engineers, and recording artists who have been historically underrepresented. To date, the label has released indie rock band Higher Hill’s “All Lit Up” produced by hitmaker Jeff Trott and “River” produced by rising Nashville engineer and producer Kate Malone.
The label will not only release Ogle’s band, Higher Hill’s recordings, but plans on creating an avenue for underrepresented creators to get not only proper financing, but professional resources across areas such as marketing, promotions, tour, and artist development.
“HigherHill Studios’ mission is to springboard underrepresented artists' success so they can choose whether they would like to build a successful independent career or pursue a record deal with an indie or major label,” says founder Vanessa Ogle. “I want to leverage my 22+ years of entertainment experience with some of the largest and most well known companies in the world to help close the diversity gap that exists in the creative aspect of the music industry.”
As a female founder, Ogle is all too familiar with the overwhelming odds minorities face to succeed not only in music but across many sectors of business. As a Latina founder of Enseo, she bootstrapped her own digital entertainment technology company and over the course of 22 years has turned it into one of the largest out-of-home digital media and connected networks in the world, serving more than 100,000,000 people annually. Holding over 120 U.S. Patents, Vanessa pioneered the out-of-home media network by combining her content and technology relationships with companies such as Netflix, Amazon, HBO, and Dish Networks with the world’s largest hotel companies including Marriott International, Intercontinental Hotel Group, Wyndham, Hilton and others. Vanessa has decades of experience working with Disney, Universal, Fox, and Sony Studios exclusively providing Hollywood movies to the U.S. armed forces.
Her leadership pushed Enseo to be recognized as #15 on Fast Company’s 2021 Best Workplaces for Innovators List, Inc. Magazine’s 5000 fast growing companies six times and named by Entrepreneur Magazine’s 360 Best Entrepreneurial Companies in America for three years consecutively. Vanessa herself has been honored with tech INC 100 Female Founder’s Award and Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award and multi-time recipient of Enterprising Women of the Year Award.
She capped her success at Enseo by successfully selling the company to H.I.G Capital, a leading global alternative investment firm with over $47 billion of equity capital under management. Vanessa remains chairman of the board.
Taking her over 21 years of executive experience, Ogle will be partnering HigherHill Studios with a variety of brands, technology companies, and music companies to give under represented artists the full breadth of resources they need to compete in today’s music marketplace.
